If you are going to make a trip to caravan or motorhome, we give you some recommendations to keep in mind so that you do not miss anything during the trip. This summer we embark on the adventure of a motorhome trip through Europe and we have been preparing for a few weeks not only the route but everything we consider we will need to enjoy this trip to the fullest. So, for those of you who are in the same situation as us, we have thought about making a list of the most important aspects to take into account when preparing the trip in a motorhome.

Where to rent a motorhome
There are many rental companies of motorhomes. In Campanda, for example, is a company in Germany that allows you to search for caravans throughout Europe and we can put it in Spanish, so there is no problem and they also tell you about the latest offers they have so you can get a cheaper caravan.
What card do I need to drive a motorhome? Is it difficult?
For most caravans they only ask you for the normal driver’s license, that is, license B. It is true that it is much larger than a car but it is a matter of getting used to it. Keep in mind that they are cars with little power so you will have to be patient when climbing the steepest slopes.
The food in a motorhome trip
Prepare a list of all the basic foods and beverages that you think you will use during your trip. Taking the complete pantry will be much easier to be able to get carried on the road and not be aware of finding a grocery store, plus it can be much cheaper to take everything prepared.
Carrying water bottles is essential. Avoid buying foods that will expire very soon and those that are packaged in glass, it is better to plastic or cans to prevent them from breaking during the journey.
If you are going to make nature routes (bicycle, hiking, etc.), you will need food that provides energy and that is easy to carry on these trips, so add chocolates and nuts to your list.
What to take of luggage to travel in the camper
If you are going to go on a trip in a rented motorhome, you may be asked for an extra for the household and kitchen utensils. The basics that must be available are the pans, pots, cutlery, plates, and glasses (the latter can have them plastic or porcelain).
In turn, you will need sheets for beds, blankets (depending on where you go, although it is better to prevent), pillow, towels or bathrobes for the shower. Essential, a good assortment of paper napkins, plastic bags to throw waste and toilet paper.
It is highly recommended to bring some candles or flashlights in case, along with a kit that serves for small domestic wounds.
Are you going to carry out any activity in the destinations that you are going to travel?
If you like the sea and sports, you can enjoy water sports such as snorkeling so do not forget the fins, the goggles and the tube along with a wetsuit to withstand the cold water temperatures for longer.
If you take the opportunity to take the bicycle with you, keep in mind that you may need a helmet and appropriate clothing to be able to move comfortably.
How much money to take for a trip in a motorhome
You can choose to take cash or use your credit card to make payments on your trip.
If you go through Europe, as it is our case, it is more than advisable that you carry a credit card because debit cards can give you problems because the connection with the bank may take longer or because they do not want to take it.
In the case that you do not have one and you want to register it in the bank, do it with enough time because they may take time to give it to you and they have to look at what limit they can give you.
How to get around the city
Going in a motorhome, the best thing you can do is park it in the outskirts of the city, at the campsite or where you want to spend the night and move to the city through public transport or by bicycle.
It is much more convenient and you avoid the possible problems with the prohibition of caravans tickets in urban centers. In addition, you can find very narrow streets if you go to a historic center or some problem to park, in this way you are more free.
